Missions

Southside Baptist Church as a bible believing christian fellowship is diligently committed to fulfilling both the Great Commission and the Great Commandments as ambassadors of Jesus Christ and heralds of His good news.

How we decide who to support:

Our Pastors and Deacons in conjunction with our Missions Team oversee and approve our missions program. This collective decides who is supported and by what amount and they are responsible for reviewing, on a regular basis, the various missionaries and organizations supported by this church.  In this way, the missions thrust of our fellowship is regulated in a manner which by the grace of God assures good stewardship of our mission enabling capabilities. Of course as a member of the SBC (Southern Baptist Convention) we naturally partner with the SBC and LBC (Louisiana Baptist Convention)  and there affiliated entities such as NOBTS's (New Oreleans Baptist Theological Seminary's) Mission Lab, the SBC's IMB (International Mission Board),  the SBC's NAMB (North American Mission Board), and our local baptist association, ELBA's, (the Eastern Louisiana Baptist Association's) ministries and mission efforts.

Beyond such associations these are the ministries/ missionaries that are currently supported by the fellowship of SSBC:
